Deaundra Jackson
Deaundra Jackson is a 2023 graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Writing and served as a Jane Cooper Fellow. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science from Spelman College. Her work amplifies marginalized voices, serving as a significant form of literary activism. In 2023, she was recognized as a Diversities and Diasporas Fellow by the Global Diversity Foundation.
Deaundra's writing has been published in various outlets, including The Mid-Atlantic Review, Solstice Literary Magazine, Aunt Chloe Literary Magazine, the Rising Phoenix Review, and the anthology Happy 90th: A Tribute to Sonia Sanchez. Currently, she teaches Composition at Clark Atlanta University, where she encourages her students to engage with diverse narratives critically. Her pedagogy is rooted in the belief that writing is a process of self-invention and a means to interrogate our society.
Deaundra resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where she enjoys watching hummingbirds and attending music festivals.
