The Kicker is Ben Shaberman’s fourth book. His first three – Retina Boy (novel), Jerry’s Vegan Women (short stories), and The Vegan Monologues (essays) – were published by Loyola University (Maryland). Shaberman’s essays and commentaries have been carried by The Washington Post, the Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, NPR, and a variety of other publications. His poetry has been published in Broken Tribe Review, Wax Poetry and Art, and other journals.
